It’s no big deal, really, but the other day I had a new experience since I started writing. Will and I were taking care of some business in town and when I handed the form with my name on it to the pretty young lady behind the counter, she read my name and asked: “Are you the author?” Well, I was taken slightly by surprise, but it felt awesome.
If you know me, you know I’m a pretty private person, but Will immediately suggested I give her one of my business cards. I don’t know what I’d do without him. He is my biggest supporter…always looking for ways draw attention to my books. I asked if she’d read my books and she told me that she had wanted to since she heard about my book signing at the local library. We completed our business and left, but it was a really great feeling for someone to see my name and recognize me in that way.

I think I will always have a hard time reading reviews. Even though my books have been quite well received and reviewed, reading reviews still makes me so nervous. I have such an emotional connection to my characters that I hope they will be met with the same love and grace that I attempted to write them with. Today, my first book received a wonderful review. I just had to share it with everyone. Click here for the Amazon review. If you haven’t read Immortal Reborn – Arianna’s Choice yet, I hope you will find this review a motivator to give it a try.

Well, there is also an authorsdb.com that has all kinds of information about authors. It’s almost like a one-stop shop for author details. My listing has recently been approved, so click the image above and check it out. You may find something else you like there as you browse all the other authors listings available.
I’m back at work now, so the editing is not going as fast as it did during the summer, but I’m making good progress with Book 4 so stay tuned for details. I’ve been welcomed into a most exciting group on facebook. Clean Indie Reads is a facebook group devoted to “helping you find stories free of offensive or explicit content”. The group is very supportive and I’m happy to say that I’ve seen some uptick in interest in my books since joining them. If you follow me on twitter, you may notice the #CR4U hashtag in some of my tweets as well as some retweets. This tag is used to identify posts by members of this group about their books from this site. Check it out.

Whew! Such a poignant moment listening to Liz Longley‘s ‘Unraveling‘ while writing a beautiful scene for Alex and Rohan. I wonder if other authors have this happen to them. Deep in the middle of Book 7, I trust the wait will be worth it! Music has played a great part in this series. I have songs and playlists that I listen to while I write. I’m considering sharing some of the other songs and maybe scenes that I’ve associated some of them with. Let me know if you’d be interested in that.
